Waste Water Management

The existing drainage systems serving the WSSCDIK jurisdiction area is mostly combined systems that convey domestic and commercial wastewater along with surface runoff during rain events. WSSCDIK is actively managing its drainage system through regular desilting and cleaning activities to prevent urban flooding. Additionally, the larvacidal and insecticide spray on water ponds and drains after desilting activities is carried out by WSSCDIK to control mosquito breeding.

WSSCDIK is installing special designed gratings on open manholes for the safety of general public as the sewerage and drainage system mainly exist in congested and densely populated area of DIKHAN city. It is a regular phenomenon that manhole covers/iron gratings get suddenly out of order or disappears and requires urgent arrangement of grating for providing and fixing so that to avoid human casualties.

Water Supply Management

Water and Sanitation Services Company Dera Ismail Khan provides clean drinking water supply to commercial organizations, community or by individuals, WSSCDIK usually supply the water via a system of pumps, reservoirs and pipes. WSSC Dera Ismail Khan providing water from 26 functional tubewell in 14 union councils of district Dera Ismail Khan consisting of approximately 4700 houses and covering more than 30,000 population.

WSSC Dera Ismail Khan ensure clean water fits for drinking and to ensure achieving SDG – 06, we test the water quality on frequent basis and take steps according to results and installed chlorinators on each functional tubewell. WSSC Dera Ismail Khan desilt the overhead reservoirs twice a year and also conducts video logs of the bore holes to inspect the condition of the casing pipes and strainers.
